Premier Events will bring its popular Woodstock Art and Wine Festival back to the city next weekend.

The free, two-day family-friendly event will take place at the Park at City Center Nov. 3-4 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event will include a juried fine arts show, wine tastings, live entertainment, an interactive children's activity area and food.

More than 70 artists throughout the southeast will have their artwork on hand, representing a variety of media such as painting, photography, sculpture, pottery and jewelry.

Participants can purchase a wine-tasting wristband and enjoy unlimited samples of more than 30 types of wine. The wine tasting will begin each day 12:30 p.m. and wrist bands are $25.

Billy Peppers, economic services director with the city of Woodstock, said there's no way to tell how many people will attend the event

"We feel the momentum building and support from the businesses so attendance is expected to increase," he added.

One of the biggest contributors of the momentum is the second annual Woodstock's Great American Chili Cook-off hosted by the Woodstock Police Foundation. The cook-off will be held between 10:30 and 3:30 p.m. Nov. 3 in conjunction with the festival.

The cook-off has almost 20 teams, Peppers stated, and the children's area has also grown to include many free activities. He also said many of the artists will feature wine-themed art, which makes it another "perfect fit."

Another compliment of the event includes the second of three movies that will be screened in partnership with Northside Hospital. "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" will start at 6:45 p.m. at the park.

Peppers noted the event helps "build and strengthen the relationships with partners and local businesses as well as keeping the city of Woodstock in the minds of the community."

"It's a great community event (and it's) fun for the entire family," he said.
