An Etowah High School student has earned a perfect score on the ACT.
Duncan Morgan, a senior at the school, earned a score of 36, the highest score a student can earn on the college entrance exam.
Only about 700 of the 1.6 million high school seniors who take the ACT annually earn a perfect score, according to the testing company. The ACT exam, along with the SAT, one of the most common recognized measures of achievement for high school students.
Duncan will be recognized by the Cherokee County School Board and Superintendent Dr. Frank Petruzielo at the Nov. 1 school board meeting, which starts at 7 p.m. at the Historic Canton High School/School Board Auditorium.
He also was recognized at the Oct. 18 board meeting for being named a National Merit semi-finalist for his outstanding score on the Practice SAT.
