When Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services and Canton Fire Department crews this morning responded to an accident that temporarily shut down Reinhardt College Parkway near Hickory Nut Drive, they found a 22-year-old woman trapped under a pickup truck.
Just before 11 a.m. today, they discovered that "a Buell motorcycle and a Chevrolet S-10 pick-up truck had left the highway and gone down an embankment," Cherokee Fire spokesman Tim Cavender said in a news release. "The motorcyclist, a 22-year-old female, was trapped underneath the truck vehicle and had to be removed."
The woman, who has not been identified, was flown to Grady Hospital in Atlanta. She was listed in critical condition, Cavender said.
The 62-year-old driver of the truck was not seriously injured. However, he was shaken, Cavender said. The man's name was not released.
The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the accident.
