The renovated Blankets Creek Park bike trails will be the star attraction at a ribbon cutting that will be held early next week.
Representatives from the Cherokee County Board of Commissioners, Cherokee Recreation & Parks Agency, the Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association (SORBA) and the Chamber of Commerce will be at the park at 2125 Sixes Rd. in Canton on Tuesday, June 25 at 10:30 a.m. to symbolically open the new mountain biking trails.
Some of the improvements at the park include an increased-capacity parking lot, a re-aligned and paved entrance, four brand new restrooms/changing rooms, two new pavilions, a bike wash station, and landscape and hardscape improvements.
Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services will also be showing off their new fire rescue boat and ATV/trailer that are in constant use in remote locations, including the mountain bike trails.
