Lithonia Man Accused of Shooting at Police During Car Chase - Stone Mountain-Lithonia Patch

Two men have been arrested in connection to firing shots at police officers during a car chase following an armed robbery at a Waffle House in Norcross.

According to Gwinnett County Police spokesman Cpl. Jake Smith and jail records, Tavares Douglas Harris, 25, of Lithonia, was arrested and charged with armed robbery, providing a false name to an officer and two counts of aggravated assault. Norcross Man, Woman Arrested in Connection to Elderly Fraud Scheme - Norcross Patch

Five people across metro Atlanta are wanted on racketeering charges in connection with a sales scheme to defraud more than 30 elderly people out of various amounts of money.

Between March 8 and Dec. 9, 2012, investigators with the Governor's Office of Consumer Protection said the suspects made "cold contact" with elderly victims as part of a sales scheme to promote and conduct exterior home cleaning services and repairs. For more on this story, visit Norcross Patch.

Man Robbed at Gunpoint in Midtown - Midtown Patch

Atlanta police are looking for two men who robbed a Midtown resident who was on his way home from work around 9 p.m. April 22.

The victim gave police the following account:

He was walking down 8th Street when he realized two men following him.

When he arrived at the Charles Allen Drive intersection, the two robbers pounced.

One man pulled out what the victim believed to be a pistol and demanded his iPhone and cash.

After he complied, they fled.

Alpharetta Breaks Ground on City Center - Alpharetta-Milton Patch

Alpharetta's City Center finally is beginning to seem like it will become a reality with the groundbreaking held on the old section of Haynes Bridge Road that will be the site of the new City Hall.

Demolition of structures around the existing City Hall will begin later this week. Georgia Power and Atlanta Gas Light crews could be seen on site today, readying the property for the demolition.

Digital Marketing Firm to Bring 200 Jobs to Buckhead- Buckhead Patch

As Buckhead continues to build its reputation as a hub for techpreneurs and technology companies, one digital marketing firm is planning to bring 200 jobs here as it plants its new regional headquarters.

Exact Target, a marketing software firm based in Indianapolis, selected Buckhead for its new regional headquarters after looking at Chicago and Charlotte, NC as possibilities. Atlanta's deep well of technology talent and the vacant space in Pardot’s Buckhead office building were main reasons Buckhead was ultimately chosen, the Atlanta Business Chronicle reported.
