3. Authorities with the Canton Police Department have identified the two men suspected of stealing 51 Apple iPods worth more than $7,000 from the Canton Walmart Supercenter last month. Dexter Damion Griffith, 20, and Joshua Ryan Cole, 22, both of Lawrenceville, are wanted in connection with the July 19 theft.
4. Responses are mixed after State Superintendent Dr. John Barge announced this week that he opposes an amendment that would allow the state the authority to approve and fund local charter schools. Late Wednesday, Cherokee Charter Academy's Lyn Michaels-Carden issued this statement: "Obviously, we are very disappointed with Dr. Barge’s decision. We feel we have a very good working relationship with the Department of Education and look forward to continuing to work with them in the future." Join the conversation.
