Tornadoes that struck Georgia on Wednesday caused an estimated $75 million in insured losses, Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner Ralph Hudgens said.
"That figure will rise as new claims are reported," Hudgens said in a release. "Damage to the Daiki Corporation manufacturing plant in Adarisville was quite extensive."
A final count late Thursday indicated 442 residential structures and 30 commercial properties—not individual businesses—in Bartow County were damaged, The Daily Tribune News reports.
Twenty-two homes and six commercial properties were completely destroyed.
Cherokee County was spared damage from Wednesday's tornadoes, but heavy rains did cause the temporary closures of several roads throughout the county.
