An Acworth man has been arrested for allegedly robbing a Woodstock bank.
Chase Lovell Gates, 27, of Acworth has been charged with allegedly robbing Cherokee Bank in Woodstock.
Cherokee Sheriff's Office Spokesman Lt. Jay Baker said Gates is being held at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center with a $16,700 bond.
The department received the call from Cherokee County dispatchers around 11:45 a.m. Tuesday at the bank, located at 159 Woodstock Square Avenue.
Employees at the bank told investigators that Gates entered the bank and allegedly demanded money, according to a press release from the Woodstock Police Department.
A teller at the bank gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect then allegedly fled the bank on foot and was seen running towards the parking lot of Kohl's at 140 Woodstock Square Avenue. The suspect allegedly dropped the cash and got into a small Ford sedan.
Witnesses were able to provide officers with a partial tag number and a picture of the vehicle.
Woodstock Police then issued a Be-On-The-Look-Out alert to surrounding agencies and deputies with the Cherokee Sheriff's Office later apprehended the suspect off Kellogg Creek Road in southwest Cherokee County.
It's the second time in as many months that branch of Cherokee Bank has been the target of crime.
In December, two men were arrested for attempting to rob the same branch.
